Nitrogen heterocycles as building blocks for new metallosupramolecular architectures.

The syntheses of representative examples of five classes of new heterocyclic ligands are described. These include N,N'-chelating bis-heterocycles, binucleating ligands, cyclometallated compounds, chiral ligands and a family of polyheteroaryl-linked arenes.

A facile "click" approach to functionalised metallosupramolecular architectures.

Herein we describe a CuAAC "click" methodology for exo-functionalisation of Pd2L4 metallosupramolecular architectures. The potentially coordinating 1,2,3-triazole does not affect formation of the desired discrete complexes, nor does this external functional decoration affect the cisplatin-binding ability of the interior cavity of the assembly.

Reversible Interconversion between Singlet and Triplet 2-Naphthyl(carbomethoxy)carbene

Photolysis of methyl R-diazo-(2-naphthyl)acetate at 450 nm yields primarily the triplet ground state of 2-naphthyl(carbomethoxy)carbene (3NCC), which was characterized by its UV/visible, IR, and ESR spectra as well as by trapping with O2 and CO. Bleaching of the weak visible bands of 3NCC (λ > 515 nm) leads to the disappearance of the triplet ESR spectrum and to a new optical spectrum with broa...

Interconversion between three overstretched DNA structures.

Double-stranded DNA can exist in multiple structures, including three recently identified overstretched structures (peeled ssDNA, DNA bubble, and S-DNA) for torsion-unconstrained DNA under large tension. Here, we report systematic studies of interconversion between these overstretched DNA structures induced by changing NaCl concentration at constant force. At forces above 70 pN where DNA exists...

The Impact of Different Genetic Architectures on Accuracy of Genomic Selection Using Three Bayesian Methods

Genome-wide evaluation uses the associations of a large number of single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers across the whole genome and then combines the statistical methods with genomic data to predict the genetic values. Genomic predictions relieson linkage disequilibrium (LD) between genetic markers and quantitative trait loci (QTL) in a population. Methods that use all markers simultaneo...
